A new local initiative, Building Stark By Degrees, encourages young people and their parents to make plans for a college education. Building Stark By Degrees celebrates the success stories of educational achievement in Stark County.

The College Board, a national organization dedicated to helping young people advance to a college education, has recognized the Stark Education Partnership as one of three outstanding college success initiatives in the Midwest.

The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Stark Education Partnership welcomed renowned education reformer Dr. Willard Daggett to the 96th annual dinner, held Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Daggett inspires audiences to both embrace what is best about our education system and make the changes necessary to meet the needs of all students in the 21st Century.

Brittany Steigart, a Macedonia native and Malone University senior, was recently chosen from among her peers as a nominee for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO) Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts.
